Just after daybreak

A 43' Lagoon Power Catamaran blowing by us

 Mile Marker 105
The ICW is measured in stature miles
We run in nautical miles
(about 1.1 statute mile = 1 nautical mile)

Dream Catcher anchored right next to us in
Dowry Creek, NC just east of Bellhaven, NC

Storymaker at sunset from Dream Catcher

An early day, we pulled the hook at 0550 hours as we really didn't need daylight to see.  Bob used the spotlight to search for crabpots, but it was all open water from our anchorage.  I was pretty under the weather trying to beat my cold, but I was able to get up to make Bob the LAST duck omelet (Bob says, "Many, many thanks Derek!").  I slept the whole day.

The wind blew on our nose and I could hear Bob fiddling with the jib.  He said we picked up a whole knot cruising down the Abermarle Sound.  He also said it was a, "turtleless" and "alligatorless" day with no wildlife at all in the Alligator/Pungo River Canal like we saw before.

Gary picked an anchorage, where they could get fuel, and we dropped the hooks.  The Marina owner told Gary he did not like us anchoring in front of the Marina, but oh well.  We cooked up some beef and enjoyed a nice dinner.  Until the skeeters came out!  Then we ran for cover and finished out dinner inside after the sunset.
