Georgetown, SC
A little foggy this morning when we left
But still beautiful pictures
Grandeur on the ICW
This part of the canal was a little "hairy!"
It's called the, "Rockpile!"
Waccamaw River, SC
Gary's coming
Construction work being done on one of the
bridges we need to go under
What a beautiful day!
Still cutting grass here!
I'm with Captain Bob....between him and the
speed at which our boat can run....
I'm always "Resuming Safe Speed!"
Small part of river and this boat decides to pass us,
he didn't know the big boy was comin' around
the bend...made for lots of rockin' & rollin'
for us!
See the serpent? See all the turtles???
Me enjoying the ride!
Bob "counting" turtles....he stopped at 176 turtles
knowing next year he would have to break his record!
Coming into Georgetown, SC
Inside where we dropped anchor for night
Jayne & I
This is where a couple of buildings burned down
recently...The towns people want to make sure everyone
knows that, "they are still alive and thriving...come on down!!"
Jayne & I sitting on Main St.
Isn't he the cutest Jack!
He's saying "That's right...look at me!!"
The clerk is holding another Jack that was under
the counter. He started poking his little head out when
he heard the other one getting so much attention!
Paper mill spewing stuff on the left; the Steel Mill
to the right. Us anchored off to the right with Gary
and Jayne
Bob & Gary enjoying life!
Georgetown Dock
Our anchorage spot for the night
Bob showing me a trick with a dime....see him
holding it in his right hand...or left depending on how
you're looking at him!
Now he's doing his trick!
Now how did he make a dime into 2 pennies!!!
Gary & Jayne toasting to a beautiful sunset and day!!
Another great day on the water. It turned out to be so beautiful. I actually had to put on suntan lotion! Yeah for me!! Ever since the sun has come out my cold is gone. It's like the sun "baked me well!" It was nice being able to get off the boat and to walk into town on such a beautiful day. All the locals are always so friendly. Our anchorage spot isn't as quiet as most of our past ones have been, with the Steel Mill right behind us, but like Gary said "it's only for one night" and not only that....the mill actually sounds like the ocean at night time with a train SCREEEECHING once in a while! :0)
Thank you for sharing your blog. I get as close a feeling of being there as one can be so far away.
