Visited by over 140,000 people each year, the Ponce de Leon Inlet Light Station was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1998. The lighthouse tower and museum are located 10 miles south of Daytona Beach and are open to the public year round. The Ponce Inlet Lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse in Florida and one of the tallest masonry lighthouses in the country. Visitors can climb 203 steps to the top of the 175 foot tower and enjoy magnificent views of the World's Most Famous Beach, Ponce Inlet, and surrounding inland waterways from the lighthouse gallery deck.

Today was a good day for all the little sailboats to come out and play!
We dropped anchor just south of them for the night.

It was also a good day for Bob to go diving !

He had to go down and change the sacrificial anodes (zincs)
on our boat.  This is the first time they've been changed since
we started cruising this year !

We left New Smyrna around 11 this morning and arrived in Daytona Beach around 2 p.m.

Since the weather was so nice today, and since we needed to change the "zincs" for the last month or so, Bob finally made the big plunge today.  All in all, the zincs didn't look to bad.  But sure do feel better knowing the sail drive and zincs are done and we no longer need to have it bothering us in the back of our minds !!

We cooked burgers out on the grill, had a little happy hour, enjoyed the weather and watched a little TV before retiring for the night.  Early morning tomorrow; we are headed to St. Augustine and it is 52 miles away!
