Does this look like we are in Florida!?!
Actually ~ it's not that cold, just that wet and windy
from the ride
Gary trying to get on his dinghy
Earlier he tried and his dinghy was
getting swamped so he had to pull it
back up!
Lot's of fishing boats here in Fernandina
Jayne & Gary headed into town
See Jayne's umbrella...smart move!
The gulls were waiting for us!
Fernandina Railway Express Agency
being renovated
All the houses in this area have a garage with
a live-in quarters upstairs unattached to the house
Jayne & I think this used to be a church
Can you tell we are at the Custom's Office
The guys immediately decided they were hired
and ready to protect!
This is a store on Main St.
It's not decorated for Christmas, this is a
nightly display. The whole town was like that!
We were up and on our way to Fernandina at 0700 this morning and arrived at 0745! Now that was a short day! The water was very rough today, we didn't even get off the boat until 3:15 p.m. but at least the water had calmed a little tiny bit, maybe :0)
We walked to the PO and picked up our mail and then over to the Customs Office. You see, we are checking back into the United States before we leave so we don't have to when we get back!??! Although, Eric, our Customs Officer did say we may still have to, we just won't know until we make the telephone call when we return.
After Customs, we went to Freds! Freds is a grocery store "kind-a" and we did some grocery shopping. We managed to spend $120 so I have to give the "grocery" part of the store some credit I guess! After that we walked 6 blocks back to our dinghy carrying all our groceries through town and headed back to Storymaker.
No sunset picture tonight, we spent it with Eric! Leaving in a.m. for St. Augustine.
