How much better can it get!
A different view of our cubby hole this morning
We stayed in this same location last year, now I see why
we came back again! Just beautiful!
This guy is no dummy !
He's been stilted !!
Now this guy is a dummy!
Look at all the wasted space, not to mention
it looks a little odd....
Turtles sunning !
The houses along the ICW here
were either very close together or very far apart
I'm sure there is a reason for it, but I don't know what it is?
This guy has his own private ramp!
Mrytlewood Golf Course
I can't wait to see the final outcome next year !
Uh-oh, the smile is back !!
Community Gazebo
Another one to check out next year!
Even the whales come out for a bottom cleaning once in a while !!
Ah....a couple having fun in the sun !
I know Gila Monsters are native to the southwest states
but I could have sworn this one made it to the ICW!
I almost ran the boat on shore trying to get a picture of it....
thankfully I was yelling to Bob to come and see it....
that's when he brought to my attention to
"PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!!!"
Thankfully he did see my Gila Monster....aka floating log!
Someone is getting a new dock!
What is this???
I'm trying to look it up on-line....nothing yet!
Not sure which lighthouse this is yet....still looking !
The name of the boat being towed is "Outback"
I heard the woman on the radio telling the bridge tender that
he needed to open the bridge now, otherwise, they were going to
end up in the rocks....well she was right...this is what happens
when you don't have control of your boat at bridges !
Well lookie here!
A whole new development since last year
and if you'll notice
every house is the same!
We have passed this place several time and this is the first time
we noticed that it was all outside bars! Bob and I were going to come
here for a couple of drinks, but the impeller fix took a little
longer than expected !! Next year!
This is where we dropped anchor today
Off to the left of the trees you can see the town of Calabash, SC
This is our view from the front port side of the boat
That is actually the S.C. and N.C. line
For those of you who followed the blog last year,
if you remember,
Bob was doing something here in this same spot
and I was sitting at the wheel "being in charge"
when all of a sudden I noticed that even though I had the
boat in forward gear, we seemed to be moving backwards???!
I finally brought it to Bob's attention...
"I said Bob, I have the boat in gear but for some reason we
appear to be going backwards, see how the signs keep
passing us...." I thought he was going to throw me overboard!
I didn't know a lot about current at that time, but I can honestly say,
I did learn a lot about it then and I've never forgotten it!!
Bob was right....
He's been saying for about 2 weeks now that
he needed to change the impellers....yesterday there
was a lot more smoke coming out than usual so
he decided to fix it then....that's when I almost put our
boat on land for free :0)

One huge house in the community!

As it turns out, it was also the water pump
No matter how many times we primed the impeller - sometimes
the water would come, sometimes it wouldn't....he finally
decided to change out the water pump, and wa la, the
impeller works like a charm !
Our sun setting tonight
Today was a good day. I didn't crash the boat and Bob fixed the impeller ! We didn't make many miles unfortunately, but we have so much to be thankful for anyway!
It's going to be an early night since we have to get up, and get going early in the a.m.
Oh, and by the way, I made the decision this past week that I am taking our boat out this summer by myself :0) and yes, Bob does know :0)
