Storymaker sitting at Oriental Harbor Marina
We are getting ready to leave and heading north again!
It's still pretty windy and cloudy but we hope to cross the
Pamlico Sound...if not, we will only be going about 20 miles
before dropping anchor...
It's a little chilly today
View of our anchorage

Another beautiful sunset !
Well we made it 27 miles today. The Pamlico Sound was horrible. It was like being on a roller coaster ride only when we came down, we came down hard! Everything on the boat needed to be secured, even more so than I had done already! I tried to work on the computer but it kept rising off the table and slamming back down. I was afraid it was going to get damaged so I finally put it away.
We dropped anchor around 3 p.m. and boy was I glad! Actually Bob also, because he was being hit by the waves constantly! Funny part, once we dropped anchor, we were almost carried away by mosquitoes! But we had a beautiful anchorage which will be the only time we are here. Luckily we were so exhausted we didn't want to sit outside but next time hopefully we wouldn't be and would want to be able to sit outside!
Tomorrow we hope to make about 70 miles to make up for today. We have the rest of the Sound to get through, but luckily it's the Pamilico River that runs along side of the sound. Should be much smoother!!
