Full main sail and jib! That's right, we are really
sailor's now!
This is what the map is showing....
I'm trying to figure out the 1,2,3, & 4
and how it's going to look....
This is the map of how we got in and out
of Fox Town
Coming into Fox Town
so you can get an idea of what the map is showing us
to set like this? Maybe some land somewhere?
Me taking advantage of washing the boat
during a rain storm!
We left this morning around 10 a.m. We put the main up again and learned a lot
about it. I think when we first got the
boat we pulled every line we could to make it as tight as possible to keep the
noise down at night while we were sleeping.
Wrong move! Now that we are
finally using the sail we are learning all the ins and outs as to why it’s so
hard to get up (due to us tightening the reefing lines) and other lines we used
to keep it quiet! But I think we finally
have it under control. It took us about
an hour to really get it up to the top and all the lines loosened to the point
where they need to be. Now we need to
figure out how to bring it down without all the lines hanging out all over the
place. We’ve decided we are taking Gary
& Jayne out one day and having them show us what order and how we are
supposed to do things when bringing up the main.
We also ran the water maker all
morning. It is very, very good drinkable
water now. We made about 7 gallons
before turning it off. It’s quite
amazing how you can take the ocean saltwater and turn it into very clean tasty
water. Who would have thought our
membrane for the water maker would still be good after these last couple of
years sitting dormant. We have a new one
we were going to put in but decided to try and use this one first just to see
how it worked. Glad we did now!
We anchored at Fox Town around 2 this
afternoon. Once we were done and settled
we could hear Christmas music coming from the island. It was so neat! We ended up staying in for the evening and
doing nothing. Right before we went to bed
for the night the rain came! Yeah! It/I washed all the salt off the boat and it
will be nice and clean for tomorrow!
