Happy Birthday Jenny!!!
iT’S 0748 IN THE MORNING AND
jENNY IS NOW APPROXIMATELY 1 HOUR AND 31 MINUTES OLD A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO!!!
Beautiful flowers
Sitting area for a local resturant
The guys checking out the menu !
While we were taking pictures of this decorated tree
a little girl was peeking out the window and we told
her how pretty it was and she shyly said "thank you"
it was so adorable
The sign over the door says "Irene is not allowed here!"
We thought they were talking about Hurricane Irene but they
were actually talking about the woman that lived across the
street. They said she was short but she could & would beat
you up easily!
We just missed the Christmas Parade by 2 days!!
Meet Matt. He walked with us for quite a while giving us
info about the town. He is a diver and captain.
You gotta love the reindeer! I'm hoping to make one for myself!
Meet Ranger. He is a Jack Russell and
really took a liking to us petting him!
They are coming up in the world. Getting ready to build a new
station....or maybe it's on hold....not sure?
Speaks for itself !
We stopped this woman about 20 minutes earlier to get some directions
She gave us the directions then about 20 minutes later found us again
because she wasn't sure if she was clear enough and she didn't want us to
get lost! How sweet! Then she came by again and had another person driving
another cart and said they would drive us to where we wanted to go ~ she
wanted to make sure we got there ok. We told her we needed the exercise and
sooner or later we would get there. The people on all the Cays are extremely
nice and pleasant to be around.
When we pulled into the public dinghy dock there was a
shack sitting next to the road....it was the Green Turtle Fire Department!
A shot from the road looking out to the Sea of AbacosBeautiful flowers

We went to Pineapples for a libation as Gary likes to put it
Bob enjoying the pool at Pineapples!
Sundowners for sunset!
I need to start smoking again! $6 for a pack of cigarettes!!
They even have a pole here!
Walking through the town at night to see Christmas lights
We are actually walking on the roads...they are all one way...
as you can see there isn't enough room for more than one
vehicle at a time!
More to this story!
Palm tree at night
Pretty decorations!
This dog came out of no where and was down on the ground
waiting to be rubbed as soon as we saw him! The dogs around here
are so friendly and want to be loved all the time! The cats on the other hand
run as soon as they see you! They are very skittish...
This is the marina that gave us the pass code to get on the internet.
The place is beautiful and very reasonable! Tomorrow from 4 - 6 is
Happy Hour an we are going back. They make the best rum punches!
The waitress gets off at 4 and is going to make our first drink for us and
join us for one also!

Today was mostly a run around day looking
for non-existent phones and internet service ~ at least anything for less than
a dollar per minute! I did manage to get
a couple of calls made to Jenny but did not get to talk with her. Booooo!!!!!
We did find out that the telephone store,
bank, and Post Office were open on Thursday’s between the hours of 10 a.m. and
2 p.m. We also found out the telephone
store hasn’t been open for 3 weeks and no one really knows why? I’m really hoping it’s open this Thursday
because I need to purchase a phone soon!
The internet service here is supposedly a dollar a minute but I went up
to the marina to inquire about purchasing minutes for the internet and she said
she had a code she could just give me.
So I have internet for free for as long as we are in Green Turtle
Cay (I think anyway)!
While walking around today we met another Jack Russell. His name was Max and he was 9 years old. He loved having his back scratched. Every time we would stop scratching him he would take his paw and scratch our foot and then turn his butt towards us to let us know he wasn't done with us yet! He also, along with us of course, also sang a song about "loving little dogs!" His owner was there showing us the different tricks he could do. We got the song on video but it was taking too long to download, so Bob is going to shorten it tomorrow and then I will download it.

We went back into town tonight to see the
Christmas lights. The Cays are very poor
but the people here are very happy and very nice to deal with. The real estate on the other hand is very
expensive. A small house (and I do mean
small) runs for about $225,000. It’s all
about the location I guess !
Tomorrow I’m making a down day for
me. I’m going to try and update the
blog with pictures. Not sure if it is
going to work or not but will give it a try.
I’m upstairs on the internet and have no problem with it…Bob on the
other hand is downstairs and keeps getting kicked out...antenna issue?
Ross & Randy “chatted” with me
tonight and tried to fix me up with google telephone usage so I could call
Jenny for her birthday but it didn’t work.
I asked them to call her and sing Happy Birthday to her but that didn’t
work either! Never hurts to try
though!
